How
often have you spoken to people a few times, they seemed interested,
and then, all of a sudden, they don't call back anymore? All you
get is their answering machine. You've sent them the info pack,
perhaps they've even been to a meeting or participated in a conference
call. Now, suddenly, nothing.
It hurts. It's infuriating. Worse, deep inside, it's humiliating
because you've worked on them, had high hopes for them, maybe told
others about them, and probably thought you needed them desperately.
And didn't they say they needed it, too?
Rats!!! So now what?
Well, do a pre-emptive strike. Say 'no' first. Even here. How? Get really good at leaving them a 'good-bye message', especially on their answering machine. You'll be amazed at what happens.
Huh? YES. Remember your mission:
Find people for whom it's the right thing to be doing...whether
it's joining your business or trying the product or service.
Remember what that means: No more recruiting anyone you have to
drag across the finish line. NO MORE. Yes?
All right. So here's what you can do with those who don't call you
back anymore. Call them one last time and say the following words
with gentleness, kindness, warmth and tenderness.
| "Hello, Joe? Listen, this is Dolly. From X (company name).
I've left you a couple of messages, but this one's the last
one. I won't be calling you anymore because I don't wanna be
a bug. BUT, whenever you're ready to * move out of your car into an apartment, you let me know. I'll be here. It's just that I'm on a deadline right now to find people who want what they want RIGHT NOW. So, whenever you're ready to get that thing you told me you want, call. I'll be right here, OK? My number's XXXXXXX. OK? Talk to you later. Bye!" |

The ones who really seek to change their lives will call you pronto.
Those for whom the timing is not right, for ANY reason, will not.
But, isn't that all you want? To find the ones for whom it's the
right thing to be doing? And to find them in your lifetime? Without
dragging?
A few good people always call back after hearing the 'goodbye message.'
They can't stand being told goodbye. And the ones who call you back--aren't
they the ones you want to take the next step with?
* Fill in here whatever they said they
wanted that they don't have now. The thing that they hoped the business
would provide for them, which you've discovered from asking them
